In The Woodlands, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Texas, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 amβ7 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Great experience. Clerk noticed he inadvertently over charged us, (I didn't even catch it) and he ran us down and made it right. We will be back...a lot.

I visited Houston Garden Centers to purchase St. Augustine grass and lavender plants during my lunch break. Upon entering, I observed two cashiers leaning over the counters in an unprofessional manner, appearing disengaged. I asked one cashier where I could find lavender. She vaguely directed me βto the back,β but when I went all the way to the rear of the store near the fencing, there was no lavender in that area. After searching on my own, I returned and asked again, at which point she became dismissive and said she did not speak English. I then asked an employee outside for assistance. He initially told me to ask the cashiers, but when I explained the situation and asked for help, he reluctantly walked me to the correct location. However, his behavior was rude and unprofessionalβhe did not communicate clearly and simply pointed abruptly without any courtesy. As a customer on a limited lunch break, I found this entire experience frustrating and unacceptable. The lack of clear communication, unwillingness to assist, and overall poor attitude from multiple employees reflect very poorly on customer service at this location. I would appreciate better training for staff on custome

No one speaks English, they are upset at 10 in the morning or bothered. No customer service or friendly attitude towards customer. No explanation to what plan B could be if a product is not available. If you are not Honduran or Mexican you will not be treated with customer satisfaction Very bad store to hold the name Houston Garden Center. Very unacceptable

DO NOT SHOP HERE OR TRUST THIS PLACE. I walked into Houston Garden Center ready to spend several hundred dollars on plants, and I walked out absolutely stunned at how poorly a business can treat its customers. I spent a long time carefully picking out flowers and plants, only to get to the register and be told, out of nowhere, that the prices were completely different from what was clearly posted. I used the exact Dianthus plants sitting right next to the sign that listed the price in QT, yet I was repeatedly told βpint,β as if I could not read the sign in front of me. Instead of taking a moment to look or consider that the store might have mislabeled something, I was talked down to and told I was wrong. The tone was extremely unprofessional. Wendy, the supervisor, made the entire situation worse. Instead of listening, she argued, doubled down, and refused to acknowledge even the possibility of a mistake. There was no attempt to honor the posted price, no apology and no respect. I came in ready to buy a cart full of plants. I left with nothing and no desire to ever return. If this is how they treat customers who are trying to spend real money, I can only imagine how they handle

Conveniently located off of 45N and accessible by the feeder road. There is a small parking lot. Wear your mask before entering. I also recommend that you wear sturdy, flat soled shoes because the ground is uneven and wet in certain places. There is a wide variety of plants There is a sale in several items providing a 50% savings. I purchased a bird of paradise and plumeria for $12 and they were both in 3 gallon planters. They also had pumpkins and an assortment of planter pots.
